A Family Business Inspired by Our Love for Zambia
Kobu Honey is a family-owned business, proudly run by an amazing couple from Lusaka, Zambia.
We started our journey in 2021 with a simple desire to build something of our own, something that reflected who we are, what we love, and the beautiful country we call home.
We are passionate about Zambia.
We love its incredible landscapes, its wildlife, its rivers and waterfalls, its rich history, and most of all, its people. Over the years, we have travelled across different parts of our country, discovering places, experiencing different cultures, meeting communities, and appreciating the incredible natural beauty that exists right here at home.
Our love for Zambia is also deeply connected to our work and interests. One of us is an Environmental Scientist, with experience working alongside communities to promote environmental conservation and protect the natural resources that sustain them. This has given us an even deeper appreciation for the relationship between people, nature, and sustainable livelihoods.
Why Honey?
We wanted to create something that could bring all these passions together.
Honey felt like the perfect place to start.
It comes from nature. It connects us to our forests and biodiversity. It supports beekeepers and communities. And it is something that can travel far beyond Zambia's borders.
But we didn't want to simply sell Zambian honey.
We wanted to tell Zambia's story through it.
Kobu Honey was created as a small, memorable way of sharing the things we love about our country with the rest of the world.
Every sachet is an invitation to discover something more the landscapes where our honey begins, the communities behind it, the wildlife that calls Zambia home, and the incredible places that have made us fall in love with our country again and again.
